Overview
Abu Dhabi Aviation is on the lookout for adept and seasoned Search and Rescue (SAR) Captains to strengthen our Operations division. This vital position involves piloting UAE military aircraft to carry out SAR and Aero-medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) assignments, adhering to stringent standards of operational excellence, safety, and professionalism.
Primary Duties
- Lead and adeptly execute both immediate and planned SAR and MEDEVAC flights.
- Uphold impeccable flight safety practices and align with regulatory and operational requirements.
- Conduct missions during daytime and nighttime, including use of Night Vision Goggles (NVG) for enhanced operational capability.
- Ensure aircraft and all corresponding SAR apparatus are prepared and mission-ready.
- Complete all necessary operational, training, and compliance paperwork meticulously.
- Engage in ongoing training sessions, proficiency evaluations, and professional skill growth activities.
- Promote a robust safety culture through proactive risk management and open reporting.
- Work closely with fellow aviators, medical staff, and relevant operational partners to ensure mission success.
Qualifications and Experience
- Holder of an AW139 Type Rating with at least 500 hours on that aircraft type.
- A minimum of 3,000 hours logged on helicopters.
- Certification of a valid Instrument Rating recognized by FAA, GCAA, EASA, or equivalent military authority.
- Credentials in Night Vision Goggle (NVG) usage, Crew Resource Management (CRM), and Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC).
- Accumulated no less than 180 hours operating with NVG.
- Demonstrated SAR expertise including extensive hoist operation experience.
- Operational background in MEDEVAC missions.
- English proficiency at Level 4 or higher.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
- Capable of performing efficiently in high-pressure and technically challenging environments.
- Strong commitment to safety, team collaboration, and continuous development.
- Willingness to accommodate flexible shifts involving emergency response duties.
