Job Overview
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice is seeking candidates for the position of Legal Assistant I (Section Assistant) based in Conroe, TX. This is a full-time, onsite role requiring a detailed and reliable individual with a strong work ethic and knowledge of legal processes related to inmate time calculations and legal terminology.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
The position demands relevant experience in legal work, preferably with an associate's degree or completion of an American Bar Association or American Association for Paralegal Education-approved legal assistant program. Candidates should be familiar with legal procedures, practices, and the legislative process.
Additional Information
- Retiree salary is set at 2.5% less than the advertised salary.
- No travel expectations, except occasional day trips without overnight stays.
- No pre-service training academy is required.
- This is neither a hazardous duty nor a longevity position.
