IT Support Engineer

About the Role

Zahr Freighters seeks a dedicated and skilled IT Support Engineer to join its Dubai-based IT team. This position suits an IT professional adept at troubleshooting and maintaining the company’s technology systems, ensuring seamless and secure business processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other hardware.
• Deliver technical assistance for hardware, software, operating systems, and network issues.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues using both on-site and remote methods.
• Oversee LAN/WAN networks, Wi-Fi, and internet connectivity to maintain service quality.
• Administer user accounts, email systems, passwords, and permission controls.
• Install software, apply updates, manage antivirus solutions, and conduct routine system upkeep.
• Conduct regular backups and help implement disaster recovery plans.
• Keep records of IT assets, technical documentation, and support logs up to date.
• Liaise with vendors for hardware repairs and software licensing as necessary.
• Enforce adherence to corporate IT policies and cybersecurity standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Between 2 and 5 years of relevant experience in IT support, desktop support, or system administration.
• Proficiency with Windows OS, Microsoft 365, networking, and troubleshooting hardware.
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VPNs, Wi-Fi, and printer management.
• Knowledge of cloud services, cybersecurity principles, and backup technologies.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and communication skills.
• Professional certifications like CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or Cisco are beneficial.
