About the Role and Organization
Join the dynamic team at the city administration of Weil am Rhein, situated in the scenic tri-border region of Germany, France, and Switzerland. The administration employs over 550 staff members and offers a collaborative and innovative working atmosphere in southwestern Germany.
Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time IT Administrator for the Department of Information Technology and Communication to support and develop the city's IT infrastructure and ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing user support primarily for Windows workstations, managing user accounts and specialized applications.
- Managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure effectively.
- Contributing to the planning and execution of IT projects that align with technical and organizational needs.
- Administering the IT helpdesk and documenting reported issues comprehensively.
Candidate Profile
- Completed vocational training as an IT specialist in system integration, a university degree in IT, or a comparable qualification ideally supplemented with relevant professional experience.
- Strong expertise in managing modern IT infrastructure environments.
- Experience with multiple areas including Windows Server and Active Directory, virtualization technologies such as VMware or Broadcom, backup and recovery systems like Veeam, and network and firewall configurations.
- Capability to support users in first and second-level IT support and administer complex IT infrastructure matters.
- Keen interest in independently planning and implementing IT projects.
- Analytical mindset, structured approach, and a strong customer service orientation.
- Team player with a proactive, solution-focused attitude.
