Role overview
This position supports day-to-day site operations through a mix of housekeeping, meal service, food prep, and kitchen cleanup duties. The role is hands-on and helps keep resident areas, dining spaces, and food service operations running smoothly.
Key duties
- Keep resident rooms and shared spaces tidy and sanitary through regular housekeeping.
- Help with meal service tasks, including preparing food, arranging and clearing chairs and tables, delivering trays, serving meals, and washing dishes.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness while carrying out assigned support tasks.
- Follow workplace health and safety rules at all times.
- Immediately report injuries, hazards, and other safety concerns to a supervisor.
- Complete any other reasonable tasks requested by management.
Candidate profile
- A valid Food Handler Certificate, or an accepted provincial equivalent, is required.
- Prior experience in housekeeping and food service is considered an advantage.
- Experience in a healthcare or long-term care environment is preferred.
- The ability to work independently as well as contribute to a team is important.
- Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written, along with the ability to understand and follow instructions, are needed.
