Job description

Overview

Children of India Foundation is seeking a Finance Officer based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The role involves comprehensive financial management, budgeting, and compliance duties to support the organisation's programmes and overall objectives.

Primary Duties

  • Develop annual, project-specific, and activity-based budgets in collaboration with programme teams and management, and continually monitor spending against these budgets.
  • Audit financial transactions to verify accuracy, proper authorisation, sufficient documentation, and adherence to organisational policies, legal requirements, and donor standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive and current financial records by timely recording of all monetary transactions.
  • Safeguard and systematically organise all financial documents including accounting ledgers, vouchers, invoices, receipts, bank records, contracts, and related files.
  • Validate all invoices, receipts, bills, and payment requests for correctness and completeness prior to payment processing.
  • Prepare diverse vouchers such as payment, journal, bank, and cash vouchers, ensuring an orderly filing system for easy access and audit readiness.
  • Generate periodic financial reports including statements, budget utilization reports, cash flow analyses, and fund reconciliation reports required by management and funding bodies.
  • Regularly reconcile bank accounts, cash holdings, advances, statutory contributions, and other financial entries.
  • Collaborate closely with programme teams to oversee project spending and ensure that financial planning aligns with programme goals.
  • Undertake additional finance, accounting, budgeting, compliance, or administrative tasks as delegated by the reporting manager to support the organisation’s mission.

Compensation

The position offers a monthly remuneration ranging from INR 25,000 to INR 30,000.
