Job description

About Blostem

Blostem is a Startup India-registered fintech infrastructure company founded in October 2021. Our platform offers a unified banking SDK and API enabling fintechs and financial institutions across India to seamlessly embed financial products such as Fixed Deposits and Recurring Deposits directly into their applications without the need to develop backend infrastructures from the ground up. This solution significantly accelerates time-to-market, with partners able to launch in just 7 days compared to the conventional 9 to 12 months per bank integration. We manage regulatory compliance, bank onboarding, and reconciliation processes, allowing partners to focus fully on delivering superior user experiences. Our clientele includes over 30 platforms like MobiKwik, Upstox, Jupiter, and Zerodha, and we have partnerships with more than 10 banks and NBFCs. We hold ISO 27001 certification and operate as a Technical Service Provider under RBI and NPCI regulations, implementing AES-256 encryption for data security.

Role Overview

As Blostem pursues rapid expansion, we seek a dedicated Finance Controller to take full ownership of all financial operations. This position is integral and autonomous, encompassing everything from daily accounting and compliance to management information systems (MIS) reporting, treasury oversight, and audit coordination. Reporting directly to the founders, you will play a key role in supporting data-driven decisions. This opportunity suits a freshly qualified Chartered Accountant with 3 to 4 years of post-qualification experience and a strong ambition to independently manage the finance function within a dynamic, investor-backed fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage comprehensive accounting functions including General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Receivable, and Bank Reconciliation.
  • Prepare precise monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) aligned with Ind AS or GAAP standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver MIS dashboards and financial reports for founders, leadership, and investors.
  • Ensure punctual and accurate month-end and year-end closures with error-free records.
  • Oversee all taxation and compliance duties: direct and indirect taxes, Income Tax, GST, TDS/TCS including computations, filings, and reconciliations.
  • Administer complete GST compliance (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9), ITC reconciliations, and manage notices if any.
  • Handle advance tax planning, corporate tax filings, and statutory payments such as PF, ESIC, and Professional Tax timely.
  • Liaise with tax consultants and legal advisors for tax structuring, assessments, and dispute resolution.
  • Lead various audits including statutory, tax, and internal, prepare schedules and resolve audit queries.
  • Guarantee timely completion of audits and full compliance adherence.
  • Manage ROC and MCA compliance tasks such as annual filings, board resolutions, director filings, and regulatory reports.
  • Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, 2013 specific to private limited companies.
  • Monitor and forecast cash flow daily, optimizing financial planning.
  • Manage banking relationships, fund utilization, credit facilities, and working capital efficiently.
  • Handle vendor payments, partner collections, and overall working capital management.
  • Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting collaboratively with leadership.
  • Compare budgeted and actual financial results, identify discrepancies, and suggest corrective actions.
  • Support investor reporting by preparing board presentations, financial schedules, and due diligence documentation.
  • Assist with financial modelling, pricing analyses, evaluating partnerships, and new business opportunities.
  • Manage accounting systems such as Tally Prime, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or similar.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal financial controls, standard operating procedures, and approval workflows.
  • Identify and implement automation to increase efficiency and minimize manual errors in finance operations.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant with 3 to 4 years of post-qualification work experience.
  • Proven capability in independently managing end-to-end accounting, GST, TDS, Income Tax, and ROC/MCA filings.
  • Strong proficiency in Ind AS / Indian GAAP, Companies Act 2013, and relevant tax legislation.
  • Experience managing statutory and tax audit processes from start to completion.
  • Advanced user of accounting software like Tally Prime, Zoho Books, SAP Business One, or equivalents.
  • Proficient with Excel or Google Sheets for financial modelling, reconciliations, and MIS report preparation.
