Business Analyst - Strategy

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain financial and commercial models to support advisory events and investment prospects.
• Perform market, policy, and asset-level assessments across electricity, gas, renewable energy, and related industrial sectors.
• Assist in commercial and financial due diligence processes for transactions and investments.
• Produce thorough analyses, reports, and presentations tailored for boards, executives, and investors.
• Engage in problem structuring and hypothesis formulation with senior team members.
• Monitor developments in energy markets, regulatory updates, and transition trends pertinent to client projects.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Between 1 and 3 years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, corporate finance, energy advisory, or energy market analytics.
• Proficiency in financial modelling and quantitative analysis, with advanced skills in Excel.
• Demonstrated passion for energy markets, decarbonisation, or the broader energy transition.
• Strong proficiency in distilling complex information into clear and client-appropriate deliverables.
• Capability to work autonomously within a small team environment, with significant exposure to senior personnel.

Educational Background

• A robust undergraduate degree in commerce, finance, economics, engineering, or another quantitative discipline.
• Postgraduate or honours qualifications in energy, finance, or economics are advantageous.
