Job description
Role Overview
The Automation Analyst will be an integral part of the warehouse team, responsible for overseeing and managing the Automatic Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV), and Picking Robots to guarantee smooth material flow. The role ensures flawless integration and optimal operation across shipping, dispatch, receipt, and picking processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure seamless functioning of ASRS in shipping, receiving, picking, and production supply, maintaining appropriate storage conditions and balanced workflow across departments.
- Manage system integrations between SAP and ASRS, ensuring effective synchronization and error-free communication.
- Lead and participate in initiatives aimed at improving ASRS efficiency, productivity, fault management, safety, and storage solutions.
- Oversee third-party maintenance teams and coordinate with warehouse personnel to align maintenance activities with plant and customer requirements.
- Execute remote or on-site troubleshooting to maintain continuous equipment operations and ensure 100% material delivery to internal and external customers.
- Develop and enforce internal controls related to safety, security, and inventory management, ensuring inventory movements are accurately reflected in company systems.
- Train warehouse associates and general staff on ASRS, AGV, Robots, and associated subsystems including handling equipment, fault diagnosis, and inventory flow management.
- Manage communication errors between electronic Warehouse Management (eWM) and related subsystems, working closely with SAP support and vendors for resolution.
- Own the control room operations to monitor equipment uptime, generate reports, detect faults, and guarantee timely material delivery.
- Coordinate closely with ground operations to maintain inventory integrity, manage manual commands, and prioritize tasks for automated systems.
- Participate or lead ASRS enhancements involving new functionalities, dashboards, design modifications, testing, and efficiency improvements.
- Engage in global benchmarking activities for the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions within the plant's ASRS environment.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on ASRS supplier performance to improve service quality and system reliability.
- Comply with Food Safety guidelines, Integrated Management Systems (Quality, Environment, Health, and Occupational Safety), corporate standards, and relevant legal requirements while adhering to internal policies and procedures.
- Generate comprehensive reports on team performance and productivity; analyze Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and propose strategies to optimize flow, timing, and shift management.
Performance Indicators
- Minimum 100% availability of automated equipment.
- OEE targets specifically for AGVs.
- Maintain Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) at optimal levels.
- Ensure 100% utilization of time during automation missions.
- Complete reconciliation between SAP and ASRS systems.
- Achieve zero stoppages caused by shortages of manufacturing materials linked to ASRS daily.
- Reduce equipment downtime and failure rates.

- Travel is required up to 25% of the time.
