Assistant Accountant

Overview

A banking organisation in Dublin city centre is hiring an Assistant Accountant to join a compact finance team. The business supports the corporate sector and is recruiting because of an internal reorganisation. This is a broad, hands-on finance position with varied responsibilities and direct support from senior colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle month-end close activities and reporting.
• Prepare monthly management accounts.
• Complete statutory reporting requirements.
• Act as the primary contact for the annual audit.
• Manage bank accounts and related controls.
• Perform complex account reconciliations.
• Process accounts payable transactions.
• Support accounts receivable activities.
• Ensure tax and statutory compliance obligations are met.
• Assist with annual audit preparation and coordination.
• Contribute to finance-related projects.
• Carry out additional tasks as needed.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience in a fast-moving role is important; exposure to financial services is an advantage.
• A part-qualified accounting background is preferred.
• You should be comfortable working in a busy environment.
• Strong IT proficiency is required.
• Good communication skills are essential.

This is an onsite, full-time role based in Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.
