About the Role

The Ghana Railway Development Authority is recruiting ten Wagon Operators to oversee freight wagons, ensuring safe and efficient cargo transport operations within the railway network. This role is situated in Tema, Ghana, and requires close coordination of wagon-related activities to facilitate smooth freight operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Operate tasks involving coupling and decoupling of wagons while inspecting brakes, wheels, and load conditions for safety.
• Secure cargo properly and manage load distribution to optimize freight movements and yard functions.
• Maintain detailed records concerning wagon movements and usage, and report any faults or operational challenges encountered.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum completion of Senior High School (SHS) education or an equivalent qualification.
• Possess 2 to 3 years of practical experience within railway operations, logistics, or heavy transport sectors.
• Demonstrate good physical fitness, strong knowledge of railway safety protocols, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
