About the Role
We are looking for an experienced AI and Data Architect to become a key member of our Architecture & Technology Board. This role will lead the direction and adoption of AI architecture across Service Delivery, ensuring that AI is implemented responsibly, scalably, and aligned with enterprise priorities. The candidate will help development teams create consistent, reusable, and production-ready AI solutions through stringent governance and established best practices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Establish and govern standards, patterns, and guardrails for AI/ML, Generative AI, and data architecture.
- Review and approve AI-related solutions within the Architecture & Technology Forum to guarantee alignment with enterprise architecture, data governance, security, and compliance requirements.
- Guide and oversee AI platform elements like Model Context Protocol, Agent-to-Agent communications, AI gateways, and observability frameworks to maintain secure and scalable AI ecosystems.
- Ensure that AI deployments in production are reliable, scalable, and fully observable.
- Manage key aspects of data lifecycle including quality, lineage, governance, and compliance.
- Maintain baseline architectures for existing AI services and data ecosystems.
- Assess business cases to determine AI applicability and value, advising teams on appropriate approaches (AI, automation, or traditional solutions).
- Promote best practices in AI application design, data pipeline development, and lifecycle management.
- Facilitate reuse of AI components, datasets, and standardized solution blueprints.
- Stay abreast of latest AI/ML innovations, generative AI trends, and enterprise AI platform advancements; publish thought leadership such as whitepapers and architectural guidelines.
- Collaborate across various Ericsson units to leverage existing AI platforms, share learnings, and avoid duplicated efforts, fostering standardization and consistent AI adoption across the organization.
Required Expertise
- Proven experience in AI/ML architecture, including hands-on AI application development and governance of production-grade AI/ML deployments.
- In-depth knowledge of Generative AI, large language models, retrieval-augmented generation architectures, and enterprise AI solution designs.
- Strong foundation in data architecture: conceptual and logical data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, data engineering best practices, and data governance including quality and lineage.
- Familiarity with data platforms such as data lakes, warehouses, and streaming systems.
- Understanding of feature stores, vector databases, and foundational data requirements for AI and Generative AI.
- Expertise in AI lifecycle management (MLOps) and overall data lifecycle oversight.
- Experience working with cloud AI ecosystems such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and knowledge of integration patterns.
- Ability to evaluate business requirements and select suitable AI or automation solutions.
- Skilled in defining architecture standards, governance frameworks, and communicating strategic vision through whitepapers or forums.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in natural language processing, conversational AI, or automation within Service Delivery environments.
- Certifications in AI/ML, cloud computing, architecture frameworks (like TOGAF), and telecom domain expertise are advantageous.
