About the Role
Join Global Software Resources (GSR), a leading IT services organization with a global footprint, to design and manage advanced data architectures on cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS. In this role, you will ensure that data solutions comply with Siemens Healthineers’ strict governance, security, and compliance standards including GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO. You will collaborate across teams to align data quality, integration, and security with enterprise requirements while driving data governance best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and sustain data architectures leveraging Azure and AWS PaaS and cloud-native services following Siemens Healthineers' governance standards.
- Guarantee that cloud-based data platforms meet organizational policies around governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
- Establish and apply standards for data governance, metadata management, and lineage across multi-tenant cloud environments.
- Work closely with demand teams, business stakeholders, and governance groups to integrate data quality, security, and integration requirements within enterprise standards.
- Propose and implement data platform solutions utilizing native cloud services, automation tools, and serverless technologies.
- Integrate security, compliance, and data protection requirements comprehensively into architectural designs.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation, blueprints, and governance models to ensure clarity and audit readiness for Azure/AWS data ecosystems.
- Partner with platform, security, and governance teams to maintain consistent policies, transparency in cost management, and compliance controls applied to data workloads.
- Promote awareness and adoption of data governance best practices across projects contributing to ongoing improvements in the Hybrid Cloud Governance framework.
- Keep abreast of the latest trends in cloud data governance and architecture to introduce innovations enhancing efficiency and compliance within Siemens Healthineers.
Experience and Qualifications
- A minimum of 7 years in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or analogous cloud data roles, including at least 5 years working extensively with Azure and AWS platforms.
- Proven track record implementing complex enterprise data platforms such as data lakes, warehouses, and real-time data pipelines within controlled governance environments.
- Deep understanding of data security mechanisms including encryption, access management, regulatory compliance, and frameworks.
- Proficient hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, big data platforms, streaming data technologies, ETL/ELT processes, and API integrations.
- Expertise with Azure/AWS tools such as Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Databricks, Cosmos DB, AWS Glue, Redshift, S3, and DynamoDB.
- Familiarity with modern architectural paradigms including Data Mesh, Lakehouse, event-driven designs, and serverless solutions.
- Experience with software development lifecycle practices, CI/CD pipelines for data solutions, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
- Certifications in Azure/AWS Data or Analytics or as a Solution Architect are advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to effectively present data governance concepts and risks to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Competencies

- Effective communicator bridging technical, governance, and business perspectives.
- Business insight to demonstrate the value and impact of data governance and compliance initiatives.
- Ability to perform under pressure delivering compliant and reliable data architecture solutions promptly.
- Documentary precision in outlining data flows, architecture, and governance frameworks.
- Fosters a collaborative and knowledge-sharing culture among teams.
- Ownership mindset for managing end-to-end governance-led data projects with clear KPIs and milestones.
- Innovation-driven with emphasis on automation, process standardization, and simplification.
- Advocates ethical data use, responsible AI practices, and privacy-centric design.
