About Showtime Consulting

Showtime Consulting is a prominent provider of Shielded Cloud and Digital Solutions across Australia and New Zealand, specialising in delivering secure, enterprise-level technology solutions within highly regulated sectors such as government and national security programs. The company partners with clients to deliver mission-critical capabilities that demand disciplined execution, strong stakeholder communication, and top-quality results across cybersecurity, cloud computing, and digital transformation domains.

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Atlassian System Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimise Jira Data Centre and Confluence Data Centre platforms within a secure government setting. The role involves ensuring the operational stability, security, and business alignment of these platforms on a daily basis. You will collaborate closely with senior platform engineers and administrators in undertaking platform enhancements, user support, upgrades, and continuous improvements. This technical position suits candidates with solid Atlassian administration experience who wish to develop platform engineering and cloud infrastructure competencies, particularly in Kubernetes-based environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Jira Data Centre and Confluence Data Centre environments including configuration of workflows, permission schemes, screen schemes, issue types, field configurations, and system settings.
  • Oversee governance, templates, macros, permissions, and content management standards for Confluence spaces.
  • Deliver Tier 2 support by handling platform incidents, access requests, troubleshooting, and performance issues.
  • Assist in platform lifecycle activities such as upgrades, patching, and maintenance of Atlassian products.
  • Administer and monitor Jira and Confluence deployments running on Kubernetes within Azure AKS and AWS EKS environments.
  • Continuously monitor application health, resource usage, logs, and performance metrics to maintain availability and reliability.
  • Execute and oversee CI/CD pipelines for application releases, configuration changes, and infrastructure updates.
  • Support management of platform storage, shared directories, and database services including Amazon EFS and Amazon RDS.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering teams, project stakeholders, and end users to enhance platform features and user experience.

Candidate Requirements

  • Between 2 to 4 years of practical experience administering Jira Data Centre and Confluence Data Centre in enterprise-level settings.
  • Strong knowledge of Jira administration such as workflows, permission models, field configurations, issue types, and screen schemes.
  • Hands-on experience with advanced Jira functionalities including JQL, automation rules, and ScriptRunner.
  • Experience in planning and executing Atlassian platform upgrades and maintenance tasks.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving issues with a user-focused approach.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts like Pods, Services, Persistent Volume Claims, ConfigMaps, and Ingress Controllers.
  • Basic comprehension of cloud infrastructure principles and enterprise application hosting.
  • Excellent communication skills and capacity to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with AWS EKS or Azure AKS hosted applications.
  • Knowledge of Helm for managing Kubernetes application deployments.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipeline support using GitLab CI or equivalent tools.
  • Experience with Artifactory, secrets management, and contemporary DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity supporting enterprise systems leveraging Amazon EFS and Amazon RDS.
  • Background in secure government, Defence, or national security environments.
  • Atlassian or relevant platform administration certifications highly valued.
