Role Overview
The Starbucks Barista position offers the chance to deliver personalized service in an on-site café environment. This role allows you to develop expertise in coffee and tea, while enhancing your customer service skills in a dynamic, fast-paced, and friendly setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere strictly to company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Offer polite and friendly greetings to customers at all times.
- Deliver exceptional customer service aligned with Safeway's programs.
- Handle payments through cash, cheque, credit card, gift card, and debit systems.
- Prepare a variety of hot and cold beverages, including specialty drinks.
- Manage stocking and ordering of products as required.
- Perform light cleaning responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt swiftly.
- Capable of functioning effectively in a fast-paced atmosphere.
- Highly motivated and collaborative team player.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated strong customer service aptitude.
- Operate safely and responsibly in the workplace.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends (highly encouraged).
- Physical ability to occasionally lift up to 45 pounds.
- Constant use of hand coordination and gripping.
- Frequent use of computer and point of sale systems.
- Regular standing and bending, with occasional walking and squatting.
- No prior experience necessary.
