About the Role
This position offers a unique opportunity to join a small team providing round-the-clock services for the Coroners Court. As the first point of contact for incoming inquiries, you will assess caller needs accurately and ensure the correct response or action is taken based on your expertise. Beyond frontline communication, you will manage various administrative duties related to case matters notified to the Coroner. You will serve as a critical liaison between the Coroner and other involved parties by utilizing file management systems to facilitate information access and maintain efficient service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer inbound enquiries promptly and discern caller requirements to enable appropriate follow-up.
- Perform administrative tasks tied to managing Coroner-related cases and communications.
- Act as an essential communication conduit between the Coroner and relevant stakeholders, ensuring timely information sharing via file management systems.
Skills and Experience
- Strong ability to listen, question effectively, analyze information swiftly, and make sound decisions.
- Capable of maintaining composure and sensitivity when dealing with emotionally challenging or stressful situations.
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Proficiency in handling critical and confidential case information, ensuring proper storage, retrieval, and communication to diverse audiences.
- Experience collecting and organizing correspondence from multiple internal and external sources.
Work Conditions and Requirements
- Willingness and ability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster including shifts from 07:00-15:30, 10:00-18:30, 15:30-00:00, and 23:00-07:30.
- Flexibility to work day, evening, night shifts, weekends, and public holidays as scheduled.
- Minimum qualification of NCEA Level 2 or equivalent demonstrable work experience.

Salary and Application
The salary band for this role ranges from NZD 60,729 to NZD 80,794 annually, with placement dependent on relevant experience and skills.
