Role Overview

We are collaborating with a prominent commercial bank in the UAE to appoint a Head of Transformation for a fixed 12-month contract. This senior position demands a results-driven leader who can rapidly take charge and propel key transformation initiatives at a swift pace. The bank is undergoing critical evolutionary changes and requires an adept transformation expert to assume immediate ownership and execute a challenging portfolio within a set timeframe.

Key Responsibilities

• Assume full accountability for the bank's transformation program immediately, converting strategic goals into a structured, well-managed portfolio of projects.
• Drive execution of complex, cross-departmental initiatives that span operations, technology, customer experience, and organizational structure.
• Lead and enhance the existing transformation team by instilling rigor, accelerating progress, and ensuring clear responsibility for delivery.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Board, and Executive Committee by providing clear insights into project progress, risks, and results.
• Collaborate closely with business unit leaders and functional managers to align efforts, eliminate obstacles, and maintain momentum across initiatives.
• Implement and uphold governance frameworks, reporting standards, and benefits measurement systems linking program activities to tangible outcomes.
• Achieve measurable and lasting transformation impact within the contract duration, strengthening the function for sustainable success.

Candidate Profile

• Available immediately or within a short notice period, ready to commit to a 12-month contract.
• Possesses 10 to 15 years of demonstrated experience leading large-scale transformation, change management, or program delivery in large, complex financial institutions.
• Proven success in spearheading enterprise-wide transformation projects that encompass technology, operations, and organizational change within banking contexts.
• In-depth knowledge of the regulatory environment, internal structures, and cultural characteristics of major commercial banks in the Middle East.
• Strong business insight with the ability to link transformation efforts directly to financial metrics such as revenue and cost, along with enhanced customer outcomes.
• Excellent stakeholder management capabilities, with the gravitas to interact effectively at Board and Executive levels.
• Confident in immersing oneself into an active, demanding environment and delivering immediate results.
• Based in the United Arab Emirates and ready to begin with short notice.
