Role Overview
As the Tender Bid Manager, you will be responsible for leading the preparation, coordination, and submission of high-value infrastructure and construction tenders. Collaborating with estimating, engineering, commercial, and operational teams, you will formulate winning bid strategies ensuring submissions are compliant, commercially sound, and of the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entire tender lifecycle from receipt through to submission.
- Formulate bid strategies, methodologies, and project delivery plans.
- Analyze tender documents and client requirements, including handling clarification requests.
- Coordinate input from multiple teams including estimating, engineering, planning, HSEQ, and commercial divisions.
- Oversee tender scheduling, deliverables, and deadlines.
- Ensure bid writing and technical content meet quality and compliance benchmarks.
- Facilitate tender reviews, governance approvals, and sign-off procedures.
- Engage with clients, consultants, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Identify and manage risks, opportunities, and commercial aspects related to tenders.
- Lead final tender submissions, client presentations, interviews, and manage post-tender clarifications.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated experience in bid management, pre-construction, estimating, or tender coordination within the construction sector.
- Experience with large-scale construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, or utilities projects.
- Strong knowledge of tendering procedures, procurement strategies, construction methodologies, and project delivery frameworks.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and bid writing skills with the ability to craft compelling client submissions.
- Degree qualification preferably in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary bid teams and tender programmes.
- Commercial awareness, including understanding of construction methodologies, planning, and project execution.
