About the Role

Join the Property & Facilities Division within Campus Operations at one of Australia's premier universities in a full-time continuing role based at St Lucia campus. As a Contract Auditor, you will be instrumental in bolstering governance, compliance, and performance assurance of contractors involved in a broad range of infrastructure and service contracts. You will conduct systematic audits that underpin operational excellence, transparency, value optimization, and continuous enhancements across a complex contractor portfolio.

This field-focused position involves close collaboration with contractors, service delivery teams, and asset management personnel to facilitate impactful improvements across the university's campuses.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate contractor execution of infrastructure services covering mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, civil, and transportation contracts.
• Assess contractor performance in soft service areas such as cleaning, pest management, and waste services to confirm adherence to contract terms and service standards.
• Audit contractor billing, verify compliance with agreed contract pricing, and pinpoint opportunities for cost efficiency.
• Prepare audit documentation, communicate findings, track non-compliance issues, and support initiatives to enhance contractor performance continuously.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a building-related degree combined with relevant professional experience, expert specialization in a related discipline, or an equivalent integration of trade experience and education.
• A solid grasp of contract management concepts, contractor auditing methodologies, and compliance assurance processes.
• In-depth understanding of mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems in sizeable, complex facilities including technical, scientific, or laboratory environments.
• Practical experience analyzing contractor performance, conducting audits, and contributing to contract management and negotiations.
• Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and dedication to accurate data management.
• Demonstrated ability to proficiently utilize diverse systems and software, including facilities and data management tools.
• Excellent organizational, project management, and stakeholder engagement capabilities, adept at handling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to proactively work independently with sound judgment within a complicated operational context while also thriving in collaborative environments.
