About the Role

We are looking for a strategic and execution-focused General Manager to lead operations in South East Asia, a region crucial for growth, safety, and ecosystem development. This role entails serving as the senior regional representative with external stakeholders including governments and media, while internally coordinating between product, policy, and operations teams. The GM will guide unified business leadership to influence product development, growth strategies, compliance, and public reputation, balancing these factors thoughtfully.

Key Responsibilities

• Define ambitious goals and clear strategies for the Southeast Asia region and oversee day-to-day local team operations.
• Advocate for Southeast Asia interests within the global organization, ensuring regional perspectives shape global priorities.
• Act as the principal liaison between the local office and headquarters on regulatory, product, safety, and operational issues.
• Implement mechanisms to detect early regulatory, cultural, or market changes impacting the region.
• Ensure continuous and smooth operations across all Southeast Asian markets.
• Forecast and address emerging public policy requirements, collaborating with Policy, Trust & Safety, Legal, and Product teams.
• Develop strategic partnerships with regulators, rating agencies, and media to mitigate risks and secure business continuity.
• Represent the company publicly on safety and integrity matters to enhance trust and resilience.
• Formulate and execute growth strategies to accelerate user acquisition, bookings, and foster a robust local creator ecosystem.
• Establish a strong physical presence to boost brand recognition and support creators, focusing especially on key content verticals.
• Strengthen ties with major regional partners.
• Collaborate with headquarters on integrated growth and compliance roadmaps involving product and core functions.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive experience managing multi-country operations in a significant international region.
• Skilled in navigating and leading within global matrix organizations with dotted-line reporting structures.
• Ability and willingness to travel frequently to headquarters in San Mateo, CA during initial months to build foundational alignment, before settling long-term in Singapore.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of representing the company credibly to governments and partners.
• Proven ability to operate in highly regulated and politically complex environments.
• Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in multiple regional languages such as Bahasa is highly advantageous.
• Background or experience in gaming or user-generated content (UGC) platforms is a strong plus.
• Technical knowledge or technical background is preferred.

Additional Details

This position requires onsite presence at the office at least Tuesday through Thursday, with optional attendance on Monday and Friday.
