Chief Officer

Position Overview

Stena Line invites an experienced senior deck officer to take on the role of Chief Officer aboard the vessel Stena Nordica. This full-time, onboard position offers an excellent balance between professional advancement and personal life, with responsibilities spanning safety, maintenance, and operational management under the direct supervision of the Master.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee designated areas of responsibility as defined by the Master of the vessel.
• Fulfill active roles within the ship’s emergency protocols and organizational structure.
• Perform maintenance duties on board following the vessel's Planned Maintenance Program.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of the ship’s operating and navigational procedures.
• Proactively manage all risks to the ship, personnel, and environment by implementing appropriate safety measures.
• Promptly report to the Senior Master any incidents, accidents, hazards, or equipment malfunctions, particularly concerning safety systems.
• Comply with Safety Management System (SMS) procedures as outlined in the DOCMAP system documentation.
• Engage with higher-level duties beyond rank to ensure preparedness for leadership responsibilities and hands-on involvement.
