Starting with Great Barrier Reef cruises, the company now operates three vessels accommodating between 72 and 120 guests on diverse domestic and international destinations. Role Overview
As a Chef aboard our expedition ships, you will efficiently manage the galley ensuring timely delivery of high-quality meals to guests and crew according to the menu plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen/galley operations with at least three years of commercial kitchen experience.
- Maintain product quality, presentation, and food safety consistently.
- Apply sound understanding of food cost management and portion control.
- Demonstrate safe work practices and uphold excellent personal presentation standards.
- Exhibit strong customer service skills and a passion for culinary arts.
- Work collaboratively in a small team environment where tolerance for close living and working conditions is essential.
Required Qualifications and Certifications
- Diploma in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid passport for travel requirements.
Preferred Qualifications to Obtain with Us
- AMSA-endorsed Certificate of Safety Training (CoST).
- Crowd Control and Crisis Management training.
- AMSA Medical qualification and Marine Cook Certificate.
- Australian Seafarers book or equivalent from another country.
