About the Role
Be a key member of a results-driven and inclusive team at Scotiabank's technology division, Scotia Tech. This department drives the creation and operation of digital solutions that support the bank's global operations by delivering secure, scalable, and reliable platforms. Key Responsibilities
- Promote a high-performance, inclusive culture within the workplace.
- Engage with business and technology stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into actionable items for development teams.
- Lead and facilitate requirement and design sessions involving multiple stakeholders, producing documentation such as use cases, user stories, and sequence diagrams to support development efforts.
- Operate within an Agile/Scrum framework using Kanban methodology.
- Create detailed user stories in JIRA and maintain documentation via Confluence.
- Conduct data mapping and analysis to manage migration from existing to targeted systems.
- Provide clarification on scope and requirements throughout project delivery phases.
- Analyze and define technical requirements by reviewing solution documentation.
- Utilize a thorough understanding of business operations to address issues and identify opportunities for enhancements.
- Support or contribute to end-to-end testing, including the creation and execution of test cases and scripts.
- Oversee complex business processes to maintain integrity across business and technical requirements throughout the customer journey.
- Manage incident resolution through the ServiceNow platform.
- Act as subject matter expert for assigned functional areas, reviewing past and upcoming changes and recommending improvements.
- Champion process improvements aimed at enhancing team efficiency across project initiation, planning, execution, and closure.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical education.
- Five years of experience as a Business Technical/System Analyst, skilled in developing artifacts like user stories, sequence diagrams, and data mapping.
- At least three years' expertise in data modeling, data mapping, data dictionary creation, system design, and software development lifecycle.
- Three plus years of Agile Scrum experience, demonstrating sound knowledge of Agile principles, estimation, and ceremonies.
- Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, MS Project, and Microsoft Office tools accumulated over three years.
- Proficiency in producing Swimlane Diagrams and mapping User Journeys.
- Exceptional communication skills capable of translating complex technical material for diverse audiences and influencing stakeholder decisions effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a confident approach to ambiguity and decision-making under pressure.
- Team-oriented mindset with a passion for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities driven by an agile mindset.
