Role Overview

The Warehouse and Workshop Manager is responsible for ensuring smooth operations in the forklift warehouse and logistics (inbound/outbound storage), delivery inspections (PDI), maintenance, minor repairs, operational readiness, and the upkeep of all stored forklifts. This role requires a skilled team leader capable of managing a multinational team with strong organizational skills, quality awareness, and thorough technical expertise in mechanics, hydraulics, and electrics.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage workshop and fleet operations, including planning and supervision of all service work, inspections, and minor repairs on warehouse forklifts (electric, diesel, LPG models).
• Organize diagnostics and troubleshooting of technical issues in hydraulic, control systems, and engine components, coordinating repairs appropriately.
• Ensure and monitor quality assurance through planning and conducting delivery inspections to maintain top delivery quality and safety standards.
• Maintain safety compliance and regularly verify adherence to legal operational regulations within the warehouse and workshop.
• Oversee warehouse and forklift logistics, managing goods receipts and dispatch, optimizing storage space utilization.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and document results in warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Plan and coordinate daily schedules for technicians and warehouse personnel.
• Communicate expected completion times for forklift preparations and collaborate with the ordering departments.
• Continuously improve internal processes and time management in cooperation with colleagues and external logistics partners, such as truck carriers.
• Lead, train, and motivate workshop and warehouse staff, ensuring smooth interdepartmental communication and cooperation.
• Enforce compliance with occupational safety laws (e.g., OSHA, UVV) and internal safety guidelines.
• Manage workshop budgets by monitoring maintenance costs and optimizing expenditure.

Candidate Profile

• Completed technical vocational training (e.g., mechatronics technician for agricultural and construction machinery, automotive mechatronics technician). Advanced qualifications such as master craftsman or technician certification are advantageous.
• Several years of professional experience in maintenance of industrial trucks or agricultural and construction machinery, including leadership experience in workshop or warehouse settings.
• Fluent German language skills and intermediate English proficiency (B2 level) both written and spoken. Knowledge of Chinese is a plus.
• Proficient use of diagnostic tools; solid knowledge in hydraulics, electric motors, and battery technology (including lithium-ion batteries).
• Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent team-building skills, clear communication, and mentoring capability.
• Valid forklift operator license and Class B driving license required.
