Strategic Procurement Manager

Overview

This role is offered through a partner organization seeking a Strategic Procurement Manager located in the United States. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute strategic sourcing activities, including supplier onboarding and prioritizing products.
• Devise and implement procurement strategies to efficiently source crucial materials, hardware, and resources, ensuring timely delivery.
• Establish and maintain supplier management systems such as performance dashboards to track service metrics, exceptions, and improvement areas.
• Conduct negotiations for supplier contracts, manage agreements, and nurture vendor partnerships aligned with operational objectives.
• Design and improve procurement workflows and standard operating procedures to enhance consistency, quality, and efficiency.
• Identify risks within the supply chain and establish mitigation plans, including multi-sourcing and contingency strategies.
• Continuously monitor supplier performance, financial health, and market trends to guarantee uninterrupted supply.
• Collaborate closely with cross-departmental teams to foster responsibility, refine processes, and facilitate business growth initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 8 years’ extensive experience in strategic procurement, sourcing, and program oversight.
• 8+ years managing vendor negotiations, contract oversight, and applying supply chain principles.
• Proficient use of procurement and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP or Coupa for over 8 years.
• Deep knowledge of procurement strategies, supplier relationship oversight, and operational enhancement.
• Experience formulating sourcing strategies, managing competitive bidding, and developing supplier risk reduction plans.
• Demonstrated leadership skills capable of influencing various teams and leading initiatives without direct control.
• Strong analytical abilities to examine data trends and drive procurement improvements.
• Preferred familiarity with telecommunications inventory systems or similar technical supply chains.
• Understanding of SAP Materials Management (SAP MM) module is advantageous.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Capability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment juggling multiple priorities.
