Primary Design Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Primary Design Engineer to be based in Navi Mumbai with 14 to 20 years of experience. The candidate should have a Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The role involves working in the renewable energy sector with responsibilities including conceptual design, technical proposal evaluations, and coordination with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual designs for substations, transmission lines, and solar farms.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BoQs) for capital expenditure proposals.
• Create technical Request for Quotations (RFQs) for plant equipment and evaluate vendor technical proposals.
• Review and approve detailed engineering documents prepared by vendors.
• Collaborate as part of an engineering team skilled across the entire renewable energy value chain.
• Coordinate and oversee Owner's Engineers or consultants if they are appointed.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Practical experience in primary design engineering related to substations and solar farms.
• Strong understanding of transmission line technologies.
• Familiarity with secondary engineering aspects such as protection and substation control systems.
• Strong emphasis on value engineering and optimization while maintaining quality and high technical standards.
