Compensation and work setup

The package is listed at $86,000 to $92,000 per year, plus superannuation on a pro rata basis. The role is based in Nunawading, Victoria, with flexibility for hybrid work.

What you will do

• Run payroll end to end for as many as 1,300 employees while staying aligned with superannuation, tax, and accident compensation obligations.
• Apply the Council’s Enterprise Agreement, modern awards, statutory rules, and internal policies correctly when interpreting pay matters.
• Offer clear payroll guidance and help resolve complex employee questions and service issues.
• Maintain professional relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders through timely, customer-focused support.
• Carry out all payroll-related work in line with legislation, statutory obligations, and organisational procedures.
• Handle payroll and personnel records carefully, including checking, filing, secure storage, and archiving.
• Look for ways to improve payroll administration and service processes to strengthen efficiency.

What you need

• Strong experience handling high-volume payrolls from start to finish.
• Hands-on experience using PayGlobal, which is essential for this role.
• Local government payroll experience is preferred, though not mandatory.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• A track record of being dependable and effective in previous payroll positions.
