About Gardens by the Bay
Located at the heart of Singapore's Marina Bay, Gardens by the Bay covers 101 hectares and forms a key component of Singapore's "City in a Garden" vision. It consists of three waterfront gardens: Bay South, Bay East, and Bay Central. The site showcases world-class horticulture and garden artistry, presenting the botanical world to Singapore and introducing Singapore's botanical excellence to the global community.
Role Overview
The Flower Dome team invites a motivated individual passionate about floral design and horticulture to join the Conservatory Operations department. This role blends creative design thinking with botanical expertise to craft engaging floral displays that transport visitors around the world through immersive storytelling, elaborate props, and captivating flower arrangements celebrating diverse cultures and botanical wonders.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, planning, and upkeep of dynamic floral displays focused on creating visitor engagement.
- Work collaboratively with in-house teams and external partners such as horticulture vendors, international organizations, and cultural groups to deliver premium floral showcases.
- Coordinate with multiple stakeholders while managing project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure smooth delivery.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of a Degree or Diploma in a relevant field, ideally accompanied by at least two years' relevant professional experience in areas like set design, visual arts, event styling, or horticulture.
- A strong passion and enthusiasm for plants and gardening, with a commitment to surpassing visitor expectations.
- Capability to devise innovative solutions to operational challenges.
- A proactive, service-oriented team player ready to take hands-on roles.
- Experience in horticulture, plants, and flowers is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with interpersonal abilities to build relationships and foster partnerships.
- Proficiency in computer applications and software, including Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to work beyond standard hours, including occasional night installations and plant maintenance, to meet organizational deliverables in a dynamic workplace.
- Flexibility and eagerness to contribute towards evolving the Gardens as a cherished and frequented attraction.
Minimum education
Bachelor's Degree
