Role Overview
The Deputy Manager - Security Automation (Head of Section) will lead the automation of security systems, ensuring data-driven decisions and adherence to group standards across port sites. The position aims to boost security effectiveness, operational efficiency, and cost reduction through technology adoption and compliance monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage operation and upkeep of security automation devices, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and optimal functionality.
- Supervise Integrated Security Control Room activities, including CCTV surveillance, access control management, GPS tracking, and related security technologies.
- Conduct thorough security risk evaluations, address audit findings, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize vulnerabilities.
- Coordinate timely and effective responses to security incidents and crises at site level, collaborating with necessary teams.
- Compile and analyze diverse security data to enhance situational awareness and support strategic decisions.
- Utilize predictive intelligence by monitoring relevant local news and weather to anticipate potential operational impacts.
- Plan and implement security automation initiatives to address identified site security risks proactively.
- Introduce innovative technology solutions and automated workflows to reduce manual interventions and lower operational expenses while strengthening security safeguards.
- Ensure compliance with government security regulations, managing interactions during audits and crisis events.
- Drive continuous improvement by developing automation projects that support security and business operations, fostering growth and excellence.
- Stay updated on digital trends and AI developments to maintain competitive advantage.
- Foster a positive, respectful work environment; lead and mentor teams for enhanced collaboration and professional development.
Stakeholder Interaction
Internal: COO, department heads, legal team, direct reports.
External: Government security agencies, local law enforcement, suppliers.
Qualifications and Experience
- Educational qualification in BCA, MCA, or LLB from a recognized university, OR professional certification as a Certified Professional Investigator (PCI) issued by ASIS International.
- At least 10 years of experience managing security operations in industrial or port environments.
