Position Overview

We are expanding and seeking an enthusiastic Junior Front-End Developer ready to learn, collaborate within a remote-first team, and grow their skills. This role involves supporting the design, development, and upkeep of modern web applications and user interfaces alongside experienced developers, designers, and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop responsive and mobile-compatible web pages utilizing HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Help create reusable UI components and engaging user interfaces.
• Translate UI/UX designs into clean, functional, and adaptable web applications.
• Optimize websites and apps for performance, speed, and user accessibility.
• Test and ensure compatibility with various modern browsers and devices.
• Identify and resolve front-end bugs and performance issues.
• Maintain and upgrade existing web applications.
• Support feature implementations and user experience enhancements.
• Engage in regular code maintenance and updates.
• Work collaboratively with UI/UX designers, back-end developers, and product managers.
• Participate actively in Agile sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to code reviews and team communications.
• Produce clean, maintainable, and well-commented code adhering to coding standards and version control protocols.
• Engage in testing, debugging, and quality assurance activities.
• Commit to continuous skill enhancements through mentorship and training.
• Keep abreast of new front-end technologies and industry developments.
• Learn and apply new frameworks, tools, and development methodologies.
• Share knowledge and suggest improvements for product and process quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related discipline.
• 0 to 2 years’ experience in front-end or web development, including internships, freelance, academic, or personal projects.
• Fundamental knowledge of responsive design principles.
• Familiarity with Git version control systems.
• Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+).
• Basic exposure to React.js, Vue.js, or Angular frameworks.
• Understanding of responsive CSS frameworks like Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and JSON.
• Basic competency with browser developer tools and debugging methods.
• Appreciation of web accessibility and cross-browser compatibility standards.
• Preferred skills include TypeScript familiarity, state management libraries (Redux, Context API, Pinia), experience with design tools like Figma, and knowledge of build tools (Vite, Webpack, npm, Yarn).
• Experience or exposure to Agile or Scrum methodologies is advantageous.
