Role Overview

This leadership position involves spearheading the technology and systems architecture strategy within an expanding life sciences technology company. The role is pivotal in steering the transformation from a traditional hardware-centric product approach to a software and AI-driven platform model.

Key Responsibilities

• Clarify and outline system challenges and logic to stakeholders with precision.
• Lead the architecture strategy across multiple layers including hardware, firmware, software, cloud services, and AI.
• Implement software engineering concepts to hardware interfaces, creating user-friendly and intuitive experiences for complex instruments.
• Guide the development and architecture of innovative software platforms by integrating AI functionalities that support seamless workflow-level user interactions.
• Collaborate closely with Research & Development, Engineering, Applications, Product, and Commercial teams to ensure architectural decisions align with technical limitations and business goals.

Candidate Requirements

• Over a decade of experience in systems architecture, platform engineering, or related technical fields.
• Demonstrated ability to approach problems from first principles, analyzing and framing ambiguous challenges before proposing solutions instead of relying on default methods.
• Proven background in creating user interfaces for complex technical products, especially towards consumer or non-expert users.
