Role Overview
As a Telecom Civil and Structural Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and updating technical drawings that are essential for telecom network initiatives. Your tasks will include site layouts, schematics, construction details, and installation plans specifically targeting telecom infrastructure such as 5G upgrades and tower modifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine technical drawings covering site plans, schematics, construction details, and installation layouts for telecom projects.
- Compile comprehensive construction documentation packages necessary for field implementation.
- Create installation packages focusing on 5G network upgrades, rooftop configurations, tower modifications, and related infrastructure components.
- Produce detailed structural drawings including foundations, tower reinforcements, and other civil/structural elements.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to ensure designs align with project requirements and client expectations.
- Conduct thorough reviews of drawings for accuracy, completeness, constructability, and compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Maintain meticulous records of drawing revisions, documentation logs, and project data.
- Support quality assurance by verifying design inputs, markups, revisions, and the final deliverables prior to submission.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of 6 to 8 years' experience in civil drafting, structural drafting, or telecom infrastructure drafting roles.
- Must possess a Professional Engineering designation or be eligible for registration with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
- Mandated proficiency in French, including both written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in preparing telecom construction drawings and installation packages.
- Strong grasp of civil and structural drafting practices, including telecom site layouts, rooftop installations, tower reinforcements, and foundation detailing.
