Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic career changers to join us as Security Officers based in Yeovil (BA20). This role offers competitive pay of up to £14.46 per hour (equivalent to £32,000 annually) with flexible shift options available, including a 4 on/4 off rotation covering days, nights, and weekends or a relief shift pattern providing flexibility to cover varied shifts.
Core Responsibilities
- Operate CCTV and alarm systems and manage site access control.
- Conduct routine patrols to ensure premises security.
- Provide support to staff, visitors, and contractors on site.
- Report incidents and express concerns to maintain safety standards.
- Manage vehicle access controls and parking arrangements.
- Issue visitor badges and handle key management responsibly.
- Deliver outstanding customer service consistently.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
No prior security experience is required; skills from retail, customer service, hospitality, or care industries are highly relevant. Key traits include excellent communication and customer service skills, reliability, professionalism, and a proactive approach. A full UK driving licence, physical fitness for regular patrols, and the flexibility to work various shifts—including nights and weekends—are essential.
Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK, be British nationals, have lived in the UK continuously for the last five years, and be able to obtain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) clearances. While SIA licence holders are welcome, it is not a mandatory requirement.
