Position Overview
The Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), Division of Developmental Disabilities (DD), is recruiting a Research/Data Analyst to join the Data & Analytics Team located in Jefferson City, Missouri. This role supports data-driven evaluation and management of programs related to Medicaid and community services for the developmentally disabled population.
Compensation
The annual base salary salary for this role can reach up to $65669. The final compensation will depend on the candidate's educational background and relevant work experience. Additional pay like retention differentials may increase total earnings beyond the stated base.
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research, data extraction, and generate timely reports on Medicaid waiver and other healthcare datasets relevant to the Division of DD.
- Deliver vital data insights to assist Division leadership in making informed management decisions.
- Create and maintain reports and interactive dashboards that assess present and future program effectiveness.
- Collaborate with fellow analysts on diverse data research projects within the Division.
- Engage with public and private sector stakeholders on shared data analytic projects and contribute to research initiatives.
- Independently design and develop reports using tools such as SQL, Visual Studio, Excel, Tableau, and Power BI.
- Provide technical advice and conduct policy-related data research especially focused on Medicaid long term services and supports.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree plus 2 to 4 years of relevant experience and/or certification; substitutions may be considered.
- Experience preferred in analyzing programs related to mental health, social services, intellectual/developmental disabilities, Medicaid, or public health.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally and clearly with various stakeholders.
- Capacity to prioritize multiple tasks effectively and manage time efficiently.
- Cooperative mindset to coordinate and consult with team members for task completion.
- Independent issue identification, troubleshooting, and escalation where needed.
- Proven ability to act as a consultant internally and externally within departments and systems.
- Self-directed and able to work autonomously while contributing as a team player.
- Proficiency in writing ad hoc queries, reports, uploads, and downloads.
- Hands-on experience with MS SQL, Visual Studio, Excel, SharePoint, Tableau, and Power BI.
