About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Plant Coordinator for a significant earthworks infrastructure project based in Shelly Beach, Queensland. This role involves overseeing a broad range of civil plant and machinery to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient project execution. You will be responsible for the coordination, servicing, maintenance, and compliance of a large plant fleet supporting major earthmoving activities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate mobilisation and deployment of plant and heavy equipment across the site.
- Collaborate with site teams, supervisors, and subcontractors to guarantee equipment availability.
- Schedule and oversee maintenance, servicing, and repairs to reduce downtime.
- Monitor equipment usage to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
- Maintain detailed records of plant inspections, compliance, and operational documentation.
- Manage responses to equipment breakdowns and liaise with maintenance providers.
- Ensure plant inductions, registrations, and statutory compliance are current.
- Support procurement and hiring processes for additional equipment when necessary.
- Coordinate closely with logistics and project teams to facilitate construction operations.
- Ensure all machinery operates within strict safety and environmental guidelines.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating plant and heavy machinery within civil construction or earthworks.
- Familiarity with earthmoving equipment such as excavators, dozers, graders, rollers, loaders, and articulated dump trucks.
- Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic project environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Proficient computer skills, ideally with experience using plant management or maintenance software.
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety regulations related to plant and equipment.
- Previous involvement in major civil infrastructure, mining, or earthworks projects is highly advantageous.
