About the Opportunity

We are looking to hire a skilled Payroll Administrator to join our team full-time at our downtown Calgary office. The role involves managing comprehensive payroll operations for employees based in Canada and the United States, ensuring precise, compliant, and prompt salary processing from Monday to Friday.

  • Oversee full-cycle payroll activities for Canadian and U.S. personnel, guaranteeing accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Administer payroll-associated benefits, retirement savings plans, and Workers' Compensation reporting requirements.
  • Ensure all payroll processes comply with Canadian and U.S. laws, tax codes, and annual reporting demands.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees and management on payroll, benefits, and policy questions.
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll data, post journal entries, and generate necessary reports to assist with monthly and yearly financial closings.
  • Contribute to payroll system upkeep, enhance operational efficiencies, and collaborate effectively with Human Resources and Accounting departments.

Candidate Profile

  • At least five years of payroll experience handling both Canadian and U.S. employee compensation.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems such as Dayforce, FieldCap, or NetSuite is advantageous.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to precise work output.
  • Strong time management and organizational capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Competence in data entry, payroll reconciliation, and reporting tasks.
  • Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and integrity with sensitive information.
  • Self-driven, proactive attitude and capacity to work autonomously.
  • Problem-solving oriented with a solution-focused mindset.
  • Customer-centric approach and ability to work collaboratively within teams.
  • Experience in the oil and gas sector or familiarity with electronic ticketing systems is a plus.
