Mechanical Project Engineer

Role overview

ProSource is partnering with a major engineering and contracting business working across mechanical, electrical, and process disciplines. Owing to continued growth, the company is seeking a seasoned Senior Mechanical Engineer for a site-based position in Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the lead mechanical engineering contact on site and act as the main liaison for the main contractor and subcontractors.
• Manage engineering scope, schedule, and resources on a day-to-day basis.
• Support the development of junior engineers where required.
• Oversee submittals, procurement activities, and associated logs.
• Coordinate on site with the main contractor and other trades, including attending meetings as needed.
• Participate in weekly meetings with the design team and main contractor.
• Build and maintain constructive relationships with all project stakeholders.
• Assist the Project Manager with project status reporting.
• Handle the daily supervision of subcontractors on site.
• Apply company policies and standards, with particular attention to health & safety and quality requirements.
• Contribute to the commissioning and control strategy for the project.
• Act as commissioning lead for the project.
• Help prepare and upload weekly progress reports with the Project Manager.

Ideal candidate profile

• Holds a relevant third-level qualification.
• Has 3 to 4 years of experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrates a strong results-focused mindset and clear communication skills.
• Has hands-on experience with technical submittals.
• Is experienced in commissioning and handover procedures.
• Shows a strong work ethic and a record of contributing to successful projects.
• Can communicate effectively with varied stakeholders.
• Works well independently as well as part of a team.
• Is computer literate and comfortable using MS Office or project-related software.
