About the Role
Join the leading industrial electrical team in Canterbury with opportunities available in Rolleston, Ashburton, or Geraldine. This position offers a dynamic work environment where no two days are alike, with the chance for career growth and skill appreciation.
As an Industrial & Commercial Electrician, your duties will encompass a broad range of tasks across various industrial and commercial sites. Your work will include breakdown responses, preventative maintenance, large-scale installations, factory upgrades, and automation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing electrical installations in industrial and commercial settings.
- Conducting preventative maintenance and servicing electrical systems.
- Troubleshooting and responding swiftly to electrical faults and breakdowns.
- Executing factory upgrades and electrical fit-outs.
- Handling motor control systems, switchboards, and industrial equipment.
- Commissioning, testing, and verifying electrical installations for safety and functionality.
- Interpreting electrical drawings and preparing comprehensive job documentation.
- Collaborating with experienced PLC and automation experts, with potential opportunities to enhance programming skills.
- Mentoring apprentices and fostering a collaborative and supportive team culture.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold a current New Zealand Electrical Registration and Practising Licence.
- Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical work.
- Proficiency in fault-finding and diagnostic techniques.
- Familiarity with motor control systems and industrial machinery.
- Experience with PLC or automation is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Possession of a valid New Zealand Driver Licence.
- A positive mindset with dedication to high-quality workmanship.
