About the Role
Level Electrical Rolleston, located in Rolleston, Canterbury, is expanding its team and seeking a skilled Industrial & Commercial Electrician to join their high-performing workforce. This position offers a dynamic work environment involving varied tasks such as breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance, factory installations, commercial ventures, and industrial automation projects. The role promises no two days will be the same and presents a chance to work with a respected business that genuinely values its employees and invests in their ongoing development.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out electrical installations in industrial and commercial settings.
- Responding to fault-finding and electrical breakdown issues promptly.
- Conducting preventive maintenance tasks across diverse industrial sites.
- Upgrading factory equipment, managing switchboards, and motor control systems.
- Commissioning and testing newly installed electrical systems.
- Working with, or learning about, PLC and automation systems from experienced programmers.
- Interpreting electrical diagrams and completing necessary job-related documentation.
- Leading teams on selected installation projects.
- Mentoring apprentices and less experienced electricians.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold a current New Zealand Registered Electrician practising licence.
- Demonstrated experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical work.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with motor control systems and industrial electrical equipment.
- Knowledge or interest in PLC or automation systems is preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Possession of a full New Zealand driver licence.
- A positive mindset with pride in delivering quality workmanship.
- Experience in team leadership and customer service interaction.
- Effective communication skills with both team leaders and clients.
