Human Rights Compliance Manager, Human Rights and Social Impact

About the Role

Join Amazon's Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) team focused on advancing environmental and social initiatives as part of the company’s global sustainability strategy. This position centers on managing human rights and environmental impacts across Amazon’s supply chain, reinforcing corporate standards including the Global Human Rights Principles and Supply Chain Standards.

Key Responsibilities

As the Human Rights Compliance Manager, you will act as the case-level single threaded leader overseeing the full lifecycle of impact management, including investigation, remediation, and stakeholder coordination. You will handle a portfolio of complex cases including audit findings, worker grievances, and escalations, independently designing and implementing remediation plans while ensuring adherence to service level agreements. Direct engagement with suppliers and service providers for both corrective action and preventive interventions is essential, as is conducting site visits to verify improvements. You will also identify trends across cases to recommend systemic solutions and contribute to the development of standardized protocols and guidance. Close collaboration with legal, PR, HR, and sourcing departments will be required to align approaches and balance varied stakeholder interests.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will bring expertise from compliance program management, audit, legal, or risk prevention roles, along with strong knowledge of human rights principles and labor standards. Demonstrated skills in investigation management, stakeholder engagement, analytical problem-solving, and effective communication are critical. Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently within target timelines and proficiency with case management systems are necessary. Travel for supplier site visits may be required. Preferred candidates will hold professional auditing or compliance qualifications, be fluent in Hindi, Bengali, or Nepali, and possess experience with international labor and human rights frameworks within manufacturing or global supply chain contexts.
