Job Overview
The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Officer will collaborate with site operations at a Sort Center to enforce company safety protocols and ensure adherence to relevant local and regional safety laws. Using lean methodologies and continuous improvement techniques such as kaizens, the role aims to minimize safety risks and ergonomic hazards, fostering a secure and healthy environment for all Associates.
Key Functions
This position requires building strong relationships with the Operations Team to facilitate change through thorough risk evaluations and safety data analysis. The officer will identify industry best practices to integrate into existing safety standards for ongoing enhancement.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in Health and Safety or a related discipline and possess a minimum of two years' experience in Environment, Health & Safety or Industrial Safety Engineering. Experience with lean principles and operational process improvements is essential. Desired skills include strategic goal development and robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
