About the Role
This Human Resources Administrator acts as the primary contact for both ship and shore employees regarding various daily People & Culture functions. The position involves supporting HR operations through administration, coordination, documentation, and communication, as well as handling system escalations. The contract is initially for three months with a possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first level of HR support by addressing general HR questions, benefits inquiries, interpreting employee policies, and providing business guidance.
- Collaborate with managers on disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
- Maintain internal HR systems including processing transactions, managing positions, and opening requisitions, as well as generating reports on requisition and position statuses.
- Consult with business leaders regarding workforce changes like terminations and reporting structures, including system transaction processing.
- Prepare materials for pulse survey reviews and work with the People team on trend analysis and recommendations.
- Draft internal offer and promotion letters and maintain relevant employee records.
- Support onboarding by organizing new hire orientation and conducting follow-up check-ins.
- Partner with the People team to support strategy implementation, identify needs, and execute business initiatives.
- Conduct exit interviews and assist with employee offboarding processes.
- Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors or management.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, industrial relations, business administration, or equivalent HR generalist experience.
- At least two years of human resources generalist experience.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred.
- Strong ability to influence business clients and HR centers of excellence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with persuasive ability.
- Critical and conceptual thinking skills to support data-driven decision making.
- Capability to perform in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency.
- Exceptional customer service skills including providing alternative solutions to inquiries.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality at all times.
- Professional demeanor and presence.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite and HRIS systems.
