About the Programme
Auckland Council is inviting recent graduates or final year students to join its two-year Finance Graduate Programme. This initiative offers an immersive rotational experience within Oceania's largest local government body, serving a community of over 1.7 million people. Participants will gain vital exposure to finance operations, including business partnering, strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, procurement, and accounts management.
The Council oversees infrastructure projects and service delivery, managing over $50 billion worth of assets. Graduates in this programme will engage in impactful endeavors such as developing new libraries, swimming pools, housing infrastructure, and environmental stewardship, gaining insights into integrated financial, commercial, and strategic business functions.
Rotational Assignments
- Financial Services focusing on transactional processes.
- Financial Strategy involving long-term plans and controls.
- Financial Advisory, including business partnering and commercial advisory.
- Procurement and contract management activities.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will hold a relevant Bachelor's degree, preferably with an accounting major fulfilling CA/CPA professional qualification criteria. They should demonstrate strong self-management, adaptability, effective communication, critical thinking, ethics, and proactive teamwork abilities. Candidates must be eligible to work in New Zealand for at least four years without sponsorship.
