Overview
The General Manager for SupremeX Inc.'s Packaging division in Toronto, Ontario, leads the Ontario operations, reporting to the Vice-President of Packaging. This role is tasked with managing the division's overall performance including financial health, operational efficiency, business expansion, workplace culture, and leadership development. Working closely with a strong Quebec division, the General Manager will oversee profit and loss responsibilities, collaborate with leadership to improve manufacturing and sales productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the P&L for the Toronto Packaging division.
- Develop and execute strategic and operational plans aligned with corporate goals.
- Lead cross-functional teams in sales, customer service, operations, HR, and finance to ensure unified operations.
- Build and nurture relationships with clients, vendors, and partners to drive business growth.
- Implement process improvements to boost quality, throughput, and cost-efficiency.
- Oversee resolution of operational challenges and authorize departmental procedures adhering to corporate frameworks.
- Analyze data to anticipate issues and recommend proactive solutions.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement via leadership and mentorship.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, quality, and corporate standards.
- Identify risks and leverage opportunities to optimize and grow the business.
- Lead talent management strategies to support succession and leadership progression.
- Assist with integration activities for acquisitions or system implementations, as applicable.
- Promote inter-divisional collaboration to maximize efficiencies and synergies.
- Contribute to operational and capital budgeting processes.
Authority and Decision-Making
- Manage employees by assigning tasks, providing disciplinary measures, evaluating performance, and recommending hiring, promotions, raises, or terminations.
- Set divisional objectives aligned with strategic aims.
- Approve pricing, contracts, and customer quotations within established limits.
- Plan and oversee the division's budget and capital investments.
- Make key operational and resource allocation decisions daily.
- Implement divisional policies consistent with corporate guidelines.
Profiling and Competencies
- Extensive leadership experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments, preferably in folding cartons, printing, paper converting, or label manufacturing.
- Strong business insight and a results-driven approach.
- Hands-on operational expertise with deep workflow understanding.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills across all organizational levels.
- Comfortable working both on the shop floor and within executive settings.
- Highly organized with robust analytical, planning, and prioritizing abilities.
- A calm and confident decision-maker under pressure.
- Committed to safety, employee development, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years in senior management roles within manufacturing; experience in folding cartons, print labels, or paper converting is ideal.
- At least 5 years in sales or operations management, preferably in the folding carton or related industries.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is advantageous.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong financial acumen with experience interpreting financial reports, KPIs, budgets, and forecasts.
- Track record of revenue growth and profitability improvement.
- Experience with continuous improvement programs.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and project management capabilities.
- Willingness to occasionally travel within North America.
