Job Overview
Icebolethu Group is seeking a meticulous and commercially savvy Facilities Officer to manage and oversee all company-owned and leased properties within KwaZulu-Natal. This position is pivotal in ensuring the safety, compliance, efficiency, and uninterrupted operation of all buildings, infrastructure, and related services that support business functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily operations and maintenance activities across multiple sites including Mortuaries, FSP branches, fleet, and warehouses to minimize downtime through both preventative and reactive maintenance.
- Handle procurement by sourcing quotes, managing budgets and expenses, supervising contractors on site, and validating the quality of completed projects prior to authorizing payments.
- Manage lease agreements, ensure landlords fulfill maintenance commitments, conduct condition assessments, and maintain detailed asset registries for all regional facilities.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, coordinate safety inspections and audits, and oversee physical security systems such as CCTV, alarms, and access controls.
- Monitor utility usage for water and electricity, manage cleaning and hygiene service agreements, and lead minor renovation and refurbishment projects from planning through completion.

- Strong technical expertise in building infrastructure, financial management, risk mitigation, and asset lifecycle monitoring.
- Excellent ability to negotiate, resolve conflicts, and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, landlords, local government, and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of Grade 12 (Matric).
- Possession of a National Diploma or Degree in Facilities Management, Property Management, Building or Construction Management, or Engineering.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience managing facilities across multiple locations.
- Demonstrated proficiency in contractor management, budget control, procurement processes, lease administration, and minor project execution.
- Valid Code B driver’s license with readiness to travel frequently and respond to emergency situations after hours.
- Additional certifications in Project Management or Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) will be considered advantageous.
