About the Role
Amerit Fleet Solutions, a prominent provider of comprehensive fleet maintenance services, is looking for a seasoned and visionary Director of Operations to lead the National Account Solutions (NAS) segment. This executive position will spearhead operational efficiency, strategic expansion, and profitability while nurturing a culture centered on innovation and customer focus.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead field operations managing a team exceeding 100 members, including Senior and Regional Operations Leaders, Fleet Managers, and Field Technicians.
- Collaborate with departments such as Finance, HR, IT, and executive leadership to synchronize operational goals with business ambitions.
- Optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) and deliver superior customer satisfaction.
- Drive strategic planning to establish Amerit’s dominance in fleet maintenance solutions, facilitating both new and existing client onboarding.
- Empower frontline leaders to enhance essential metrics and operational outcomes.
- Maintain strong, direct relationships with customer operations staff to align with client expectations, build trust, and ensure exceptional service that fulfills contract service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Oversee inventory management ensuring efficiency, optimal resource use, and accountability in inventory procedures.
- Develop and implement talent management strategies including succession planning, training, and career advancements to cultivate skilled operational leaders.
- Advise the General Manager with critical operational and technical insights supporting decision-making and achievement of business targets.
- Enforce strict compliance with operational protocols promoting safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and productivity.
- Manage the repair order process ensuring timely receipt, scheduling, execution, and closure in line with business and client requirements.
- Continuously monitor operational KPIs to ensure efficient performance of teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degrees are preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in operations, ideally in fleet management, logistics, or transportation sectors.
- Proven success in driving operational excellence, continuous process improvements, and sustained growth.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities leveraging data insights for effective decision-making.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Customer-focused mindset passionate about talent development and building top-performing teams.
- Adaptable, innovative, and resilient, thriving in fast-changing and ambiguous environments.
- Experience with analytics platforms, such as DOMO, Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik, to analyze operational data and support data-driven decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Over 10 years of practical experience as a fleet maintenance technician performing vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
- Expertise in fleet management systems including TMW, Maximo, Samsara, Fleetio, Geotab, and RTA with capability in system implementation and process optimization.
- Background in managing medium to large fleets in transportation or fleet management roles.
- Proven experience managing diverse stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.
- Skills in process development, project management, and scheduling.
Travel Expectations
Initial travel estimated at approximately 50% during the first six months for establishing relationships, overseeing new customer implementation, and operational alignment. Subsequently, travel is expected to reduce to about 35%, focusing on localized management and site visits to maintain customer relationships and monitor operations.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a remote position with preference for candidates based in Washington DC, Charlotte, NC, or Dallas, TX. The role offers a competitive salary range from $130,000 to $150,000 annually, dependent on experience and location, paid weekly every Friday, plus a bonus incentive plan.
