About the Role
QBE Insurance, an international insurer operating across 26 countries with over 13,000 employees, is seeking a dedicated Claims Adjuster to join their FSM claims team in Leeds on a hybrid or remote basis. You will be responsible for examining, evaluating, and processing claim estimates and payments to ensure alignment with policy terms and QBE's Claims Philosophy.
Primary Responsibilities
- Handle complex professional indemnity claims from investigation to resolution while adhering to service level agreements (SLAs) and authority limits.
- Deliver high-quality claims service by verifying policy coverage, negotiating settlements, and managing disputed and material claims economically.
- Accurately reserve liabilities to maintain transparency on company obligations.
- Respond proactively and punctually to correspondence from brokers and clients to maintain professional service standards.
- Manage and reconcile estimates and billings prepared by clients' service providers and brokers.
- Engage regularly with key stakeholders including customers, brokers, and internal teams.
- Support the implementation of claims strategies contributing to the achievement of business goals.
- Identify and investigate coverage issues ensuring contractual compliance.
Candidate Profile
- Preferred experience in handling professional negligence claims.
- Up-to-date knowledge of compliance, regulatory, and statutory requirements relevant to claims management.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply policy coverage details effectively.
- Strong organizational, investigative, analytical, and negotiation skills coupled with sound and impartial judgment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation abilities.
- Robust relationship management skills with the capability to work collaboratively.
- Proficient with MS Office and general IT tools.
