About the Role and Team
At Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, we are dedicated to creating magical experiences through innovative entertainment. As part of our manufacturing team at Central Shops located within The Walt Disney World Resort, you will coordinate production scheduling for complex, low-volume manufacturing and maintenance projects. These range from fabricating individual parts to refurbishing entire roller coaster trains. Your role involves creating daily production schedules, managing project timelines, and estimating delivery dates while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Production Centers, Quality Assurance, Client Service Managers, Engineers, Estimators, and Procurement to ensure feasibility and timeliness of project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize planning and scheduling software, specifically Maximo and Primavera, to input new production orders and coordinate resource allocation across Central Shops.
- Run daily production schedules for each manufacturing area and liaise with teams to ensure resource availability matches scheduled requirements, minimizing discrepancies.
- Assess schedules to detect any risks or potential delays in project delivery, working proactively to address them.
- Collaborate with planners and production personnel to optimize the sequencing of operations, ensuring all preceding tasks are completed timely for final assembly.
- Maintain accurate and thorough scheduling data, supporting data-driven decision-making and analysis.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience within manufacturing environments with knowledge of related processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, capable of managing complex spreadsheets effectively.
- Strong analytical skills to integrate diverse information sources into cohesive recommendations.
- Ability to communicate analytical insights clearly to stakeholders at various organizational levels.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with assembly, machining, welding, fiberglass, painting, and repair processes.
- Background as a Manufacturing or Process Engineer in manufacturing, maintenance, or processing settings.
- Basic understanding of scheduling principles and experience with scheduling software tools.
- Proficiency with Maximo and SAP systems.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction/Project Management, or equivalent practical experience is required.
Compensation and Benefits
This full-time position, based in Orlando, FL, offers a salary range from $83,000 to $111,200 per annum. The specific salary will be adjusted based on factors such as location, expertise, skills, experience, and internal equity. Additional compensation may include bonuses and long-term incentive units. A comprehensive benefits package covering medical, financial, and other supportive benefits is provided according to the role and level.
