Role Overview
The Learning & Onboarding Specialist will own and improve the end-to-end onboarding and learning journey at BGBx. The position is responsible for onboarding operations, coordination of enterprise learning programs, learning system administration, and cross-functional partnership to ensure employees receive a consistent, engaging, and effective start at the company.
Working with HR Business Partners, business leaders, and subject matter experts, this person will help new hires understand the organization, connect with its culture, and build the knowledge needed for long-term success and development.
Onboarding Program Management
- Oversee the companywide onboarding experience.
- Run the full preboarding and onboarding process so new hires move smoothly from candidate stage into employment.
- Act as the main point of contact between Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, hiring managers, and new employees during onboarding.
- Keep onboarding workflows, resources, tools, communications, and standards up to date and continuously improved.
- Work with HR and business leaders to align onboarding content with business priorities, organizational structure, operating practices, and objectives.
- Track onboarding performance using employee feedback, participation data, and business input.
- Introduce improvements that enhance the new hire experience and shorten time to productivity.
- Lead cross-functional onboarding efforts that create consistency across Communications and Consulting while still meeting each group’s needs.
START Class Management
- Own and evolve START Class, which serves as the central onboarding program at BGBx.
- Coordinate and support START Class delivery and participant communications.
- Handle scheduling, logistics, enrollment, and onboarding messaging.
- Collaborate with presenters, facilitators, and executives to create engaging learning experiences.
- Maintain a network of onboarding facilitators across the organization.
- Ensure the program reflects BGBx strategy, culture, values, and operating model.
- Provide a consistent onboarding experience while also highlighting the distinct identity of each division and practice.
- Collect feedback, review results, and apply improvements to the program.
Learning Operations & Program Support
- Administer Docebo and other learning platforms used for onboarding, compliance, and employee development.
- Coordinate mandatory training, compliance requirements, and companywide learning programs.
- Manage enrollment, learning logistics, communications, and completion monitoring.
- Maintain learning schedules, calendars, and documentation.
- Review participation and effectiveness data to identify ways to improve learning outcomes.
- Create reports and dashboards on onboarding and learning performance.
- Support manager development and employee development initiatives.
- Keep learning materials current, easy to access, and aligned with business requirements.
- Build and improve onboarding and learning curriculum in partnership with subject matter experts, creating engaging learner-focused content that supports business goals and employee growth.
- Assist with enterprise learning initiatives, process improvement efforts, and special projects.
Culture & Employee Experience
- Weave BGBx values, culture, and ways of working into the onboarding journey.
- Facilitate sessions focused on onboarding, culture, and employee experience.
- Create opportunities for new hires to form meaningful connections across the business.
- Support employee engagement, culture, and learning initiatives when needed.
- Help employees understand how Communications and Consulting collaborate to support clients and business results.
Experience & Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience in onboarding, learning and development, talent management, employee experience, human resources, or a similar area.
- Background in running or coordinating employee programs, learning initiatives, or development activities.
- Experience creating, improving, or designing onboarding and learning curriculum.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Proven capability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.
- Experience working across business units and functional teams.
- Experience in professional services, consulting, agency, healthcare communications, or another fast-paced environment is preferred.

Compensation & Location
The base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $90,000. BGBx is based in New York City, and this range reflects expected base compensation for the New York metropolitan area. The role can be performed remotely anywhere within the United States. For employees outside the New York City area, compensation will be adjusted to match the market for the primary work location. Final pay depends on geography, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
