Overview
Afari Travels in Lagos, Nigeria, is seeking a Human Resources Specialist who will play a pivotal role in managing all employee-related aspects. This position involves overseeing core HR functions such as job design, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and talent management. The goal is to foster a positive, productive, and cooperative working environment that promotes employee well-being and success.
Primary Duties
- Develop and execute HR strategies that align with the overall business strategy.
- Serve as a liaison between management and employees by resolving concerns, grievances, and issues.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment and employee selection processes.
- Create partnership with leadership to develop people-centric plans supporting business objectives.
- Promote a culture of high performance consistent with company values.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle including onboarding, professional growth, retention, and exit procedures.
- Drive employee engagement and talent retention initiatives.
- Oversee performance evaluation systems and identify training needs to implement development programs.
- Design career progression pathways for employees.
- Maintain daily operational oversight through task organization, progress reviews, and executive meetings.
Typical Daily Schedule
- Start the day by organizing and delegating tasks.
- Review employee goals mid-morning and address any challenges.
- Monitor task progress and prioritize activities in the afternoon.
- Meet with executives late afternoon to discuss key operational and performance issues.
- Conclude the day by collecting reports from the Operations Supervisor and coordinating plans for the following day.
- Daily update of the CRM system with notes and tracking task execution times.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Additional qualifications such as SHRM-CP or CIPD certification are advantageous.
- Proven experience in a managerial or senior HR role.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices and employment legislation.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic mindset combined with effective operational execution capabilities.
- Familiarity with HR management software and using metrics to inform decisions.
- Collaborative approach and excellent relationship-building skills.
- A passion for travel and delivering outstanding client experiences.
- Knowledge of international travel destinations and visa regulations is considered a benefit.
Compensation
The monthly salary ranges from ₦200,000 to ₦300,000.
